So I finally got through to my lupus doc to report that the "methyl bomb" did not improve things at all. I still hurt like a mofo. He wants to see me, but cant fit me in until mid September. So he prescribes a little something to see me through until then.

Tramadol.

He said to take the first dose at night because it might make me drowsy. Ah, I said to myself. Maybe I'll be able to get to sleep at a reasonable hour. So I took 100 mg at midnight.

Whoa.

Drowsy is the wrong word. I have the whirlies and sleep is completely out of the question. I still fucking hurt. After lying in bed for 3 hours, I finally got up and am trying to blog my frustration.

Writing this post is interesting. New words, new spellings, incoherent babbling ... well, it's passing the time.

Photobucket is down, so I can't work on my macro catalog.
I can't follow a plot so reading just makes me angry.

Tramadol is a synthetic opiate. Why the hell didn't he just give me morphine again. Morphine just wraps me up in a fluffy blanket of i-don't-give-a damn and the pain dribbles out to the farthest reaches of my consciousness.

I hope this shit wears off in time for me to go to work.

They avoid the real stuff due to how addictive it is.

I checked the list of side effects ... and out of 10 possible side effects, I had eight ... and since two were mutually exclusive, that left only ONE possible one that I didn't have.

And ... then i woke up from a nap with hives. I wont be taking any more of these.

I cant see ANY advantages to this crap over a real opiate. Tramadol is ALSO addictive.

I have literally bottles and bottles of Tramadol that I don't take. I don't get the whirlies or anything from it, and hardly any pain relief. It seems to work a little better if I add a couple Advil into the mix.
