I'm pretty PC normally, mostly out of common courtesy and politeness. Snarking is not my MO, and I don't find it fun to offend people.
So I would not normally applaud University of Minnesota (Morris) Professor Paul Myer irreverent activities with a communion wafer. However, the outrageous response by the Roman Catholic Church has instilled in me a deep urge to crap on a consecrated wafer.
According to the Confraternity of Catholic Clergy:
The freedom of religion means that no one has the right to attack, malign or grossly offend a faith tradition they personally do not have membership or ascribe allegiance.
Bullshit.
Fucking Bullshit.
Freedom of religion means that I cannot stop you from believing whatever tripe you want to believe. I cannot stop you from practicing your religion as long as it doesn't harm others. But I have the right to mock you mercilessly, especially when you spout such errant nonsense.
