My dad is in the hospital.

Apparently he had a TIA stroke Sunday morning. He seems to be recovering well, and has already regained most of his motor skills. He can walk and talk again, which he could not do for several hours. However, he doesn't have the fine motor skill to write. Noone knows if this is permanent or temporary, or what that means for other fine motor skills.

They kept him in the hospital overnight and will run more tests tomorrow. One of the tests is an MRI which he dreads. I suspect he is more than a little claustrophobic.

Dad has lived 30 years longer than either of his parents; he never expected to live this long. But he is fitter than men 40 years his junior. And DEFINITELY not ready to give up the good fight just yet.

Despite telling dad that the reason they were keeping him in the hospital overnight was to run tests today, no tests were run today.

Doc just blinked at our stupidity. "It's Labor Day."

Yeah. We know that. And I think you knew that yesterday when you said you would be running tests today.

So Dad is in the hospital another night. He cant sleep. He can barely eat. The man in the other bed wont let Dad turn up the sound on Dad's TV, but instead blares his all day.

The good news is that Dad has recovered his fine motor skills. He's FINE. But still in the hospital.
